Car was ok low miles,clean,ect. Staff was nice but with no give they have a lot full of cars but, My return time is 1 pm. (There open till 11pm.) I asked to pay for a few more hours and was told it would be an add. day oh well next time Avis.
Next the car they had for us was close to the very end of the lot. Thdy refused to bring the car to the door and would let me bring the car to the door. So my mother who uses a walked had to the end of the parking lot.
This people at the desk are very rude.
Rental after taxes and unlimited mileage came out to around $48 for the day (booked through hotwire). I had originally booked the rental on the National Car Rental website, but when I found out that hotwire was charging almost $10 less, the National agent had no problem canceling my reservation through National and instead use the hotwire rate. The price at the time for a sub compact was the same as an SUV, so I of course went with the latter. The vehicle was in great condition, clean and had about 7,100 miles on it. When I returned the rental the next morning at around 5:30am there was no representative, but you could drop the keys off in the drop box and document on a clip board when you returned the car. I got an emailed receipt after landing in Minneapolis about 2 hours later, so the turn around time was pretty quick. One thing I will say is that they try suckering you into purchasing the LDW coverage because of the high frequency of hail storms recently. Be sure to check the benefits of the credit card you are using. You may have LDW/CDW coverage through the card, or check with your personal car insurance. Overall a good experience.
I felt with two people at the counter and one of them was awful! It was the guy wearing a sweater vest. I didn't catch his name. He was just so short with me during the rental and seemed like me renting there was just so bad for him. Then I delt with a woman the same night and she was fantastic! She had short hair and was very helpful! Will only rent from there if they don't have that guy again!
Please do not rent a car from these people. They are unhelpful, rude, and unwilling to assist you with your travels. Simply put, they are a disgrace to the National Chain and an embarrassment to the State of South Dakota.
