We received the worst possible care there is. Ended up at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for 2 weeks. Just because RCRH couldn't figure out that it was blood pressure medication that was making a family member sick. Wow really? It took mayo to figure that out.

Perhaps if Rapid City Regional was more attentive to their patients instead of worrying about a new building expansion(and executive bonuses), people wouldn't have to drive 5 hrs. for quality medical care. I hope they will also deal with the general frosty atmosphere (literally and figuratively) in their ER and send the over abundance of "Nurse Ratcheds" out to pasture. Overall this place is a racket and I would avoid this deathtrap if at all possible. The best thing that could happen to this place would be some healthy COMPETITION. That seems unlikely though since every lawyer and business person in RC seems to be on the hospital board and know someone in city hall, thus doing all they can to block any other medical facility from moving into the area and from preventing any justifiable lawsuit from going forward. I can only imagine how many lobbyists they have doing their bidding in Pierre as well. The average person can not afford a battery of attorneys to challenge Rapid City Regional, but hopefully someday someone will come along who can challenge this disgraceful place in court and put an end to their reign and the monopoly they have had for far too long. The good people of Rapid City and the surrounding areas deserve better than RC Regional (MRSA Medical) and the chokehold they have on the community. Sanford and Avera are you listening???

The biggest display of ineptitude I have ever had the misfortune of witnessing. It was truly a pathetic sight and I guarantee you the vet down the street has more ethics than some of these jerks. These "professionals" were busy ordering a lot of unnecessary tests to make the hospital $$$ but never bothered communicating with the patient or family on ordered tests. Alarms and call lights go ignored and they have terrible communication and follow-up. No one is ever truly held accountable, and it takes an Act of Congress to get an aspirin within 2 hours! I wish I never would have brought my loved one there. It is also common knowledge that they treat the Native American population despicably as well (BIA/IHS-take note). I also think it would be very beneficial if the staff at Regional took a field trip to Mayo where they could learn how to treat patients like human beings since they seem to have so much difficulty understanding the concept.

You might see if they offer classes on how to run a functional hospital.

The nurses were great but the bill where they charged over $9,000 to use there facility for 3 hours kind of ruined everything. I would not recommend this hospital for anything! The actual work was performed by another office so that was just for using the building. I just hope no one else gets taken like i did.

Next time we are sick we are going to our Local Vet. Get a better chance there.

They have advertised that they are one of the top 3 hospitals in South Dakota which is laughable since there are only 3 large hospitals in the state. This "Healthgrades" award they are touting is also suspect since that rating system is known to be flawed (or paid for). As many reviewers have mentioned, you need to watch your bill like a hawk since their billing process is extremely sketchy. I also find it troubling and telling that doctors employed by Regional Health receive their own personal medical care outside of the Regional Network.

My son had his appendix out..Staff was wonderful... But watch out for billing it's been 3 months and we are still receiving bills...it cost over$18,000 . Seems quite extreme and with no explanation of what we are being charged for.

I could say good things about labor and delivery, but the emergency area I can say decent things. Missed the fact that I have stomach ulcers, barley even examine me or when I take my child in and then just dismiss us. I was literally crying in pain today just to be told it's nothing and to keep doing what I've been doing for almost a week. If it hasn't been working for that long and I'm coming in because of it then clearly it's not going to work after the visit. So frustrating there. The urgent care i go to is way better.
