This was so fun to do with the family. You can go at your own pace. The beautiful animals walk right up to your car in the drive thru area. After that they have a walk thru area which included baby bears. We watched them for at least 1 hour. This is a definite must if you are an animal lover and like to get up close.

I liked it. The entrance was right off the highway. It was busy when we arrived so it took about 1 1/2 hours to drive through. However, the time passes fast because of the scenery. If you are in a rush, go during off peak hours. The baby cubs were adorable. I thought the price was high for one SUV though. Probably won't return

If you have young kids or old. They will all enjoy this. Love seeing animals in their natural habitat. Very clean as well.

Great place but a tad on the pricey side. I think it'd be great if they priced it based on vehicle like the bear ranch in Michigan does, I believe The Bear Ranch is $10 per vehicle and then added charges for feeding the animals, pictures with baby cubs, etc.. With the current pricing, they should at least let the pass be good for a week so that if the animals aren't out that you wish to see, you can come back through to have another chance at seeing them.

As far as I know, Bear Country USA is the only drive-through wildlife attraction in South Dakota. The kids will love the excitement when they realize the animals could come right up to their windows! So when you get the family loaded up and head to Mount Rushmore, make sure you make a stop at Bear Country USA. It's an affordable family fun stop in our beautiful Black Hills.

There are many great opportunities to see the bears. The other animals are quite difficult to see, especially on very hot days. My son wanted to see the artic wolves badly but they were hiding. The raccoons were a riot to watch, a lady was eating and them raccoons tried desperately to find a way to get to her but of course failed every time.

The gift shop is okay but not great. There are a lot of items but lacking in the typical tourist collector items. They carry them but sold out and said that they had no intention of reordering until next spring.

The baby area of Bear Country should be called senior citizen wildlife rescue. Most of the critters in this section all seemed older and some with what seemed like old injuries.
