My husband and I just moved from Sioux Falls and we haven’t had any complains with Rapid City until coming to this movie theater. First the price for one ticket is crazy. I believe that if the price was lower more people would visit movie theaters here. In Sioux Falls there is a movie theater that is called West Mall and they charge 3.50 (for older movies, but still) it is super nice in there, everyone is kind, and we’ve never had trouble there. When we first walked into this theater we are looking at the ticket booths and nobody is there to help us. So we start walking to the con session and a young man whispers to an employee “you can tell they aren’t from here”. That comment didn’t really upset me, but my husband is 25 and they were saying how they would not give him a ticket because he left his wallet at home. I understand he needs to be Id, but i am 21. They should have let it slide. I am just not happy with this place. I will not be back.
Movie selection & prices (during specials) are good, service is good but the cones ion prices are high and the cleanliness of the facility has really been reduced due to the introduction of the "serve yourself" butter and soda.
Service was not so bad but paid 15 dollars for cold stale popcorn and drink. And the audio in the movie was horrible. Not worth paying for the movie.
Theatre is aging, but the projection equipment is good. The screen where we viewed had very visible seems which was distracting. Also, we had to wait outside of theatre 1 while they cleaned it. It took them right up to the time the movie was supposed to start which was a little rediculous.
A little old and showing wear around the edges, but still a really comfortable place to catch a movie. Hard to beat the six dollar matinees! Staff is super friendly and pretty knowledgeable. Big improvement from the old Carmike days.
