This nail store is amazing! Apparently management changed recently, and definitely for the better. The store is gorgeous, with lots of little decorative details. The place is clean throughout, and the staff was fun to talk to. I got the organic pedicure and manicure, and they did a fantastic job. I've been around a lot of nail places across the country, and this is now one of my favorites.
Went to Rock Star for the first time today. The technician was very friendly. I had a fill and gel Polish. Was not very happy with my nails. They weren't even and some looked crooked. The Polish was OK but I honestly could have done a better job. For what I paid, I'm not sure I will be back. Sorry
The nail tech that did my nails took 2 hours for a simple set. Then shaped them and then started adding rhinestones to my nails. She didn't listen to the length I wanted kept saying she was going to file them down. Half way through them another lady came up and said that be $10 extra. When I didn't even say I wanted rhinestones. Just glitter. I didn't have time to sit and have them fix it because it was closing time and she would've had to redo my entire set. When I went to pay I found out what was going to be $33 was $52 and I didn't even get to my car and 3 nails were already messed up. The rhinestones were just stacked sloppy and some have popped off. Called to talk to a manager and they said I needed to come back in to get them fixed. I live 60 miles away and am not coming back in. I said I wanted a refund. The "manager" said they could only refund the $15 for the rhinestone and the shape. I said I wanted a full refund and she continued to say she only was gonna give me a $15 gift card and that I could "just have someone pick it up for me, since I wasn't coming in" I asked to speak to the owner she said he wasn't in till tomorrow. I will be calling the owner and getting my refund. I spent over $100 in his establishment yesterday and I'm 100% dissatisfied with my acrylic set. I am hoping the owner will refund my full amount. I've learned my lesson here. I was going to bring my whole bridal party here but after yesterday definitely not.
I love Lee he is amazing I will not go anywhere else in Rapid City but to him!! Due to new ownership though if you want to get booked with him you have to say that you want him you can't to say that you want to get it done even if you're a regular client is the only downside to it! But still Lee is phenomenal you can tell him to just do whatever he wants as long as he gets the shape right for whatever you want done and your nails will turn out amazing he is so creative and just fun to be around whenever you go
The woman used old gel polish and the polish was thick and uneven. Overnight the polish changed or lost color. I am still not sure what happened. I was able to get my nails redone the next day by another tech and it looked amazing. Everyone was polite so I felt bad but the process was a bit annoying
