Easily accommodated 7 grownups for our getaway--loved the interior, room to gather, yet nicely intimate. The deck provides a beautiful view of the valley and surroundings.
Best of both worlds--easy access to Keystone, Mt Rushmore, Hill City and the rest of the beautiful Black Hills,....but wonderfully secluded to enjoy the privacy, intimate surroundings and the beautiful view atop the ridge.
GPS should lead you right to the cabin.
My girlfriends and I had the best stay at this cabin. Everything we wanted in a cabin in the hills was found here.
I recently spend a weekend here with friends. We had a delightful time. The cabin was roomy, the beds were comfy, the accommodations were perfect for us. I loved the quiet walks around the countryside. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend!
Location: we wanted a place conveniently close to the Hill City/Keystone area as well as a place that was quiet and away from everything. Driving to Deadwood wasn't difficult either. The drive to reach the cabin is on a gravel road but it's easy to navigate. Note: there are two ways to reach the cabin; one is much more curvy and was the way the GPS brought us; although cool, it was a bit rough versus using route two. Just a little ways away is Hermosa; go have pizza there! It was incredible and such a fun pizza joint.
We stayed at Whitetail Haven over the 4th of July holiday and had a great experience with our family of 5. The location is perfect- close enough to most attractions yet far enough away to provide a peaceful retreat. The kitchen had more than enough supplies, there was plenty of blankets/bedding and pillows provided, and hundreds of great movies and games. We will definitely stay here again!
Accommodations: the living room area and kitchen provide an open area for all to gather together. Comfortable chairs and a couch make the living room a wonderful place to sit and relax. The kitchen was great for making breakfast each morning and had all needed items provided (we did eat out at night but could easily have stayed put). The view from the living area is wonderful because of the wrap around deck. It was so nice to see the sunrise and hear the birds and wind in the trees. PARADISE! Each morning I enjoyed my coffee outside (we did bring our chairs in a bag). Two bedrooms and the loft area made for comfortable sleeping. Bedding and towels are provided. Bathrooms are nice and spacious and the showers were great.
I look forward to coming here again any time of year. It was wonderful!
Perfect Getaway
Adorable, CLEAN, and well maintained Cabin on the Rock was perfect for our vacation. Beautiful scenery, we even had a buck deer come right up to our door. Great location for Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and Custer. We were within driving distance and visited Devil's Tower, Deadwood and Sturgis. Don and Jamie were the perfect hosts with awesome recommendations on what to see, where to eat and what to do.
